Our data: coverage and update status
A statistic is only as complete as the matches behind it. This page explains what is in the archive and what the numbers can tell you.
Latest successful update
A match update last completed . Discovery checks and successful scorecard updates are different events; a quiet fixture period does not create a new scorecard.
Some update attempts failed in the last 24 hours. Retries are bounded; affected matches can lag behind the provider.
Live matches are checked every two minutes where the provider supplies coverage. Fixture discovery runs every thirty minutes. Completed scorecards are revisited for corrections over the following two days. Derived career totals are refreshed daily, so they can lag individual scorecards.
What is covered
These counts come from the database and include scheduled, completed and abandoned fixtures. “With innings” means at least one innings is available; it does not certify a complete scorecard or delivery record. Missing matches and partial scorecards are not zero performances.

Photographs and team marks
We have verified photos for 2,852 of 9,983 player records and 252 of 693 grounds. Licensed crests are available for 214 of 316 teams. National flags and original abbreviation marks identify teams without a licensed crest; they are not presented as official logos.
Provider images and freely reusable archive photographs are checked before they are attached to a record. A player portrait must match the person, and a venue photo must show the actual ground. Some articles use a credited archive photo of the ground or a named player; that image was not necessarily taken during the match. Records without a verified image retain a text or flag treatment instead of a fabricated picture.
Sources and attribution
Historical delivery data comes from Cricsheet, with player identifiers and known names from its Register. Cricsheet data is used with attribution under its published licence. Current fixtures and scorecards come from Sportmonks, subject to the coverage of our subscription.
We calculate scorecard summaries, phase comparisons, partnerships and career aggregates from these inputs. We do not claim ownership of the underlying match facts or affiliation with cricket governing bodies. Source revisions may change a displayed figure after publication.
How to interpret the statistics
Archive totals are not automatically official career totals or world records. A player can have matches outside our source coverage. Compare players within the same format, category and time window, and inspect their match lists before drawing a conclusion. Batting averages divide runs by dismissals; a player with no dismissals has an undefined average, not zero or infinity.
Overs are stored as legal balls: 19.4 means 118 balls in a six-ball-over match. Run-outs are not bowler wickets. Super overs are separated where the source identifies them. Tournament rules can differ from our general calculators; the competition’s official regulations take precedence.
Player identity matching uses source identifiers. Shared initials alone are insufficient to combine careers. Historical identity conflicts are being checked against source registries; report unexpected names or mixed career histories through corrections.
Some original source identifiers appear in conflicting match categories. Affected scorecards carry a review notice, are excluded from search indexing, and do not generate automated articles until the identity is verified. Source-based statistics remain provisional where those conflicts are unresolved.
Automated writing and corrections
Automated reports are labelled and link to the underlying scorecards. Publication checks require substantive analysis, source links and valid numbers. Incomplete material is withheld. These checks reduce mistakes but do not replace editorial judgment; we never invent quotes, injuries or observations about play from a score alone.
